@ Joecelyn Dexter Yes..there were a lot of ladybugs nearby actually. Yeah, the place in the pond where I see them the most is heavily shrubbed in in leaves so they definitely have plenty of food to munch on when they hatch.

These look a bit like ladybug eggs. Did you spot any ladybugs or ladybug larvae nearby? Ladybugs tend to lay their eggs where aphids are plentiful so that the larvae have plenty to munch on once they hatch.
