Wild Turkey

Meleagris gallopavo

Description:

Female Turkey

Habitat:

Creekside

Notes:

I heard this Turkey calling a ways off, I walked closer and found her up in the tree. As I continued down the trail I found tail feathers and then a dead baby turkey. :( It broke my heart to think of that poor momma turkey calling for her baby, I hope she found the rest of them.

Nice spotting - we usually see the turkeys on the ground. It is a sad story, too, though.
