Partridge Pea

Chamaecrista fasciculata

Description:

Summer-blooming legume native to most of the eastern U.S. Grows in cleared or disturbed areas and at the edge of the woods. Good for planting in burned areas, I read, because it spreads quickly to control erosion while still allowing other plants to become established.
