If I were to drill a hole in the wood I would need an electric drill and wood bit. But this female Carpenter Bee shows us the wonder of nature by excavating a perfectly round hole in the hardwood by my swimming pool. Presumably to lay her eggs.

Great sighting she must be huge. I have only seen the drones.
