Aranha da grama (Grass spider)

Lycosa erythrognatha

Description:

A little venomous brown spider (3cm - 5cm) that occurs in Brazil. The cefalotorax of both individual (male and female) have a distintive black pattern that resembles the tip of an arrow.

Habitat:

Grass fields, pasture and residences.

Notes:

Accindents invonving individuals are frequents, but not harmful. The pain of the sting can be controled by common analgesics. The venom is not deadly, but have to be treated with specific antidote.
