A mother and baby brushtail possum in the backyard. The baby's belly and underside looked tan compared to the mother white belly.

This photo was taken at 2 am. Mother was looking for something to eat, obviously ! The baby taking a ride on mum's back here is probably about 16 weeks old. and quite chubby..

Too true, Clive. Their teeth and claws are sharp. One of my cats was savaged by a large male possum, and over $1000 in vet bills later.....
I don't think I would call these cute not once you have been bitten by one!
