Giant Leopard Moth

Hypercompe scribonia

Description:

Big black fuzzy caterpillar, similar to what we called a "wooly worm" growing up, but this one doesn't have a brown stripe like the ones we played with as a kid. It has thin red stripes on its body and he is about the size of a silver dollar when he's curled up like this.

Now I just wish I could see him after his transformation. Looks like a pretty cool moth.
