A column of gilled mushrooms, species unknown. I did not note any nocturnal bioluminescence as I recall.
These mushrooms were growing on the waste "sawdust" of borer beetles that had attacked this coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). This tree was growing in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.

Well I don't want to see the light at the end of the tunnel ;-)
Maybe some Psathyrella ssp.
No nocturnal bioluminescence.. maybe a couple more? :)
