Dynamine sara
Small (less than 3 cm wingspan) iridescent blue butterfly.
Mountains above the Yunguilla Valley, Azuay Province, Ecuador. Altitude 1934 m, GPS 3 degrees12’53.8524”S, 79 degrees14’59.3232”W
Large numbers of butterfly species in area now. This only one of these I've seen here. Weather was mild, patchy clouds, at end of rainy season here.
And now I had to update it! Got a better verification from Cesar Crash of "Insetologia," the Brazilian equivalent of "What's That Bug?" that this is Dynamine sara. At least we had the genus correct the first time.
What a nice first spotting on Project Noah! It also appears to be the first posting of this species on Noah. Congratulations!
