Care of the young is characterized by the usual intense activity of this species, both parents sharing the duties of feeding and brooding the young. So unsuspicious, or so preoccupied, are they at this time that they completely ignore human proximity and fly directly to the nest with food. Thanks Antonio and neil. Yes Neil,it does seem young. Mom was around and they were hopping around in the wood. I need to read about blue gnat catcher fledglings. i have seen other species hopping around with fledglings . But that was a little more hidden space under the trees,
