Spotting

Description:

I noticed this beetle on a leaf on a tree in the hotel I was staying at in Tanzania, and I took the first 2 photos, 2 days later I took photo 3. 5 days after that, photo 4 and the last 2, 3 days later. The beetle was always in the same position on the same leaf, no matter what time of the day I looked.

Habitat:

1,400 meters in a lush area with plenty of rain

thanks stho002. I didn't know that bug sat on eggs! It hadn't moved in a week... And she was still there after all her babies had gone!

It is sitting on its eggs (most of which have hatched), just like a bird on a nest!

Not a beetle, this is a true bug of the family Scutelleridae
