It's definitely a wolf spider. I've never heard of a rule about them sticking to the ground... I guess this guy hasn't heard it either :) BugEric's suggestion looks pretty close to me.

It was jumping pretty far and that on the side of something. Wolf spiders stick to the ground

I think it's another type. Back legs look too long to jump. Let's see what the experts say. Maybe more wolf type?
