Red Bog Moss

Isotachis lyallii

Description:

Mosses are a well-defined group of plants belonging to a main division of the plant kingdom which includes all non-flowering plants. True mosses have a complex life cycle that includes spores rather than seeds. I enjoy the carpet of color in the red moss.

Notes:

Spotted in the forest of Great Lake Averill in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont
