Woodland Jumping Mouse

Napaeozapus insignis

Habitat:

Mixed forest - MacPhail Woods

Notes:

We had the pleasure of making acquaintance with a Woodland Jumping Mouse today along the trail at MacPhail Woods. This was my first time ever encountering this little creature and they are quite hilarious to watch. They bound through the trees little tiny kangaroos and are very difficult to get a good picture of but I did manage to snag one.
