Asclepias speciosa
Spotted in Yosemite NP.
Hello QWMom,Yes I also saw Showy milkweed (Asclepias speciosa) in Yosemite NP.see my PN link, http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/376...
The leaves and pod (and crook in the stem supporting the pod) look to me like a milkweed (Asclepias). Are there any species that live in that area?
Thanks a lot Leuba for the link, it will help me with my search.
How interesting ! some features look like Euphorbiaceae. Looks like the leaves have a waxy coating to prevent excessive moisture-loss.Hope you find an ID !http://www.yosemitehikes.com/wildflowers...
