I agree with lori.tas Tash. These certainly look like flannel flowers. If you felt them, you would see where they got their name :)

Hi Natashia, I think you may have spotted Flannel flowers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actinotus_h.... You'll have to look at the link and see if the foliage matches what you saw. In the future, try and take a picture of leaves and even the whole plant to include in your spotting. It helps with identification. Cheers, Lori.
