Description:

Although endemic to the West Indies, the Star of Bethlehem (not to be confused with Ornithogalum sp.) is now naturalized throughout the American tropics and Oceania. This specimen was not planted but emerged naturally, as the species does from time to time at this location.

Habitat:

Growing "wild" n a large semi-urban yard/garden next to a patch of disturbed remnant forest. This is in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.
