Civet Dung

Description:

A feces from some kind of civet. You can see fig seeds inside it showing the important role of civets as seed dispersers for wild figs. It is possible that these are the seeds of a Spiky Fig (Ficus cucurbitina) : https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/37... and the disperser could be the Borneo Striped Palm Civet : https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/85...

Habitat:

Found this on a logging road through a secondary forest

Notes:

This was recorded during our few days observation to document the ecological value of this fig species as an important species for our reforestation projects.
