Parson Spider

Herpyllus ecclesiasticus

Description:

The parson spider may grow as large as 1/2 inch long and varies from brown to black. Despite its ominous appearance it is not a dangerous spider.

Habitat:

This spider is often found in houses, but is usually found in woodpiles and under rocks.
