Nice find! This looks like a mantis nymph from the Genus Stagmomantis. They are native to North America (and some in Central and South America, I believe). Here is one that looks just like yours: http://bugguide.net/node/view/840157

There are a couple of species from this genus in your area so it may not be possible to get an exact species. Do you have any other images (different angles) of this mantis?
