Pipistrellus subflavus
Bat
Cave forest
Very brave to handle a bat, especially in a country where rabies is present.
Please consider adding this spotting to the new Bat Tracker mission at http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1830...
Also handling bats without utilizing the proper preventive measures for disinfection may spread the fungus causing massive bat die-offs (White nose syndrome). http://whitenosebats.wordpress.com/2010/...
Eastern pipistrelle (Tri-colored bat) Pipistrellus subflavus. And it is never a good idea to handle a bat unless you have had the proper pre-exposure shots...because if you can catch one...it is likely already sick.
I suggested that it's a little brown bat, but it could also be an Indiana Bat. Indiana Bats are endangered, so the numbers favor the little brown. You may want to avoid handling bats in the future, or at least wearing heavy gloves. Wild mammals can carry diseases, even the cute ones!
