I have a hibiscus flower on my list - photo taken in Florida. The hibiscus loves warm tropical climates it seems. I need to research if the flower is native to the US or introduced. Your comment has me interested

I also surprised that they are also the native of America continent when I checked online. The Hibiscus family is so big and wide spread! I noticed that the petals of Chinese Hibiscus are much slim. And when I was young, I had also seen some species with camellia-like corolla, a result from hundreds years cultivation. I'll try to find them and post later.

I didn't know they were chinese! We have them in Colombia too, and when I was little I used to like to play with them, when you open it, they have something inside that looks like a little Pinocchio nose, or that's what we used to think it looks like haha.
