The U.S. version that I have seen are cave crickets...or Rhaphidophoridae. They are "cousins". I remember working somewhere once where the lower level of the building became infested with these. Very high jumpers.

I've just checked the original photographs - they reveal that it was actually on the inside of a refrigerator door just above the egg tray. There is part of an egg visible, I will add that other picture for a size comparison, I guess a body only length of perhaps 6cm.

Thanks for the partial ID, I too will have to leave it for the experts to make a definitive species ID.

I did a quick search because it looks similar to Jerusalem crickets, which we have in the US, and this guys came up. They look similar, but I don't know enough about them to narrow down the species anymore.
