Monarch butterfly

Danaus plexippus

Description:

A lone female monarch spotted after rain. It was probably around forty-five or fifty degrees Fahrenheit, very cloudy, and early in the day. She was moving very slowly so we put her in the garage until it got warmer outside and she eventually flew away.

Notes:

The pin on the map is not the actual location of the spotting. Pictures taken with iPhone 5.
