Hi Lindi! Actually, the common name of all the Heliconia is simply Heliconia. Depending on the shape they can be called lobster claws or other things but at the end of the day they are all just heliconia much like bananas are bananas. The big difference between the heliconia beyond genus and species is which cultivar it is. There are many and many cross breeds which make identifying them difficult.
After your helpful hint (thank you again ) and a little research I believe it to be Heliconia psittacorum. But I am not sure of the common name, so for now I will just call it by the scientific name :)

Could it belong to the Heliconia family?
