Assassin Bug

Description:

Penny-sized insect, brown with diamond pattern on outer wings. Four wings that fold flat against the body. Long spindly legs and long jointed antennas. Appeared agitated and attempted to attack whenever I got close.

Habitat:

Suburban landscaped neighborhood

Notes:

Found on my windowsill (I think there must be a hole in my screen)... Didn't have a way to catch it and take it outside so I trapped it behind the glass and it eventually disappeared. Even with the window separating us, it was aggressive and agitated.

After a quick bit of research I think you are right. Glad I didn't touch it, all of the descriptions I read says it has a nasty painful bite! Yikes!
