Purple Locoweed

Oxytropis lambertii

Description:

A native plant and a member of the pea family. From what I read this plant is predominantly found in the midwest - to find it in the Mojave desert seems so random. We also saw it in one remote spot only.

Habitat:

dune, mojave desert
