This was a rubbery moss or lichens found on a damp forest floor - slick green on one side / textured black on the other. Wyoming County West Virginia. Any comments would be appreciated.

Smooth Rock Tripe is one of the largest lichens in the world, some specimens measuring over 2 feet across. When dry, they appear brittle, but when wet they have a slimy, rubbery appearance. Rock Tripe is edible. It is found on boulders and steep rock walls in forests and around lakes.
