Description:

This creeping legume is common in sandy spots along the Maine coast. It has a pretty pink blossom in a variety of shades and the seed pod looks like a small, flat snow pea.

Habitat:

Dunes and high beach sand along the Atlantic coast in Midcoast Maine.

Notes:

Apparently it's edible, but the seeds can cause a strange nervous-system disorder if you eat too many, so I wouldn't advise it...
