Sea thrift

Armeria maritima

Description:

Mats of grass-like leaves, tufts of pink flowers on 3" stems.

Habitat:

On rocky shore within reach of ocean spray.

Notes:

These will grow in my garden 3 miles from the ocean, too. The blooms can be cut (though they're short, they make a nice nosegay). It's a low-maintenance perennial.
