spotted this at night around the pousada in caraca parque natural
thanks Latimeria, for the correction. only now i saw the difference and its almost clearly visible. :) i wud like to cancel my previous answr..! :P
I don't think this is an alderfly, gymr123. The head is too different, especially the mandibles. It looks more like a dobsonfly to me.
