These were introduced to North America as song birds and they have taken hold as a foreign species. I once nursed one back to health that had been shot and released him after caring for him for 6 months.

As a group, they are quite noisy, but a single specimen has quite the vocal range and they can be taught to talk (or at least mimic speech) and sing.
