Cicadas molting in action.
I had to stop on my way to work when I saw all these kind of gross but beautiful Cicadas molting. Does anyone know if the color variation is related to the sex of the organism?

Beautiful pictures! I'm insanely jealous. As for color variation, the white one is white because it just eclosed from its nymph phase. Its body will harden and its color will change after a few hours. The two individuals might be different sexes, but the color won't tell you that.
