Wanted to capture the yellow scales on this fellow's forelimbs. Took a while for this one to cooperate, but this is the best photo I got.
Half buried in a pile of leaves near a small stream.
The State Reptile of Missouri. The three-toed box turtle is one of many subspecies that together make up the group of animals known as box turtles.
