Pyramid Butterflyfish

Hemitaurichthys polylepis

Notes:

While we were diving, out of nowhere this huge shoal of pyramid butterflyfish appeared. They came over the reef crest in a single file, then flitted up into the water column to feed (there was a strong current, I guess it brought in a lot of food for them!). They were EVERYWHERE, it was one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen. I don't think these photos do it justice.
