These blooms were larger than what I normally see. Beautiful specimen.

That is a beautiful species!! I have never seen them quite that large either!
There are many trillium species. This appears to be Trillium grandiflorum, the Large-flowered Trillium, which accounts for the large blossoms you're seeing.
