Yes, I was thinking Murraya too. It's in the citrus family and makes berries. Hopefully this is right. We use it as a hedge here in Florida. Most people like the fragrance though. Check out this pic:

I reckon... I'll have a crack at the Internet later, got to go to work now! It's like waiting for berries to grow there!

Could you describe the berries...or maybe add a photo when they come...it would be fun to try to solve this mystery.

Well I've been here 3 years almost and no fruit, it has berries but none at the mo... It flowers more prolific in summer and that's when it reeks!

Yes, all the fruits you mention are citrus but there are other species in that family, as well...some have smaller leaves....waiting for the fruit would be good for IDing the plant.

Does it ever bear fruit ?

So a citrus flower does'nt grow on an orange, lemon, or grapefruit tree? We have those in the garden and this has much smaller leaves although the flowers are the same size... And it doesn't smell of citrus... Like I said it STINKS, it's really, really sickly!

You think that citrus flowers smell bad? Sure looks like a citrus flower to be, as hookgv mentioned

No, we do have an orange, lemon and grapefruit tree which do stink in summer too as the stink bugs get up in them! Only the putrid grape fruit ever grow and not even the birds, bats or bugs will touch them!
