Description:

It has skin flaps on the plastron to hide the hind legs and tail. Carapace is covered with smooth skin. front and back margins of the shell can be bent down to completely hide the retracted head and limbs. Head oval, Terminating in a tubular nostrils. Digits fully webbed.

Habitat:

It lives in ponds and tanks connected with or independent of river. Itinhibits swallow water and lie half burried in mud and snap at passing prey with an extremly fast thrust of long neck.
