Ok, I just checked on a hardiness map. You're in Zone 6 but really close to zone 7. That means a lot as to what you can grown there. I have a type of prickly pear in my yard that is hardy to Zone 5/6, where I live. Could be the same one....

Oh I'm not sure what zones Dan. I'm in Broken Arrow, OK....right outside of Tulsa.
