Procolobus tephrosceles
Long gray body hair, red capped head.

I spotted these in the trees above my campsite around Lake Nkuruba near Fort Portal. The western red colobus is frequently hunted by the common chimpanzee

Actually its the western red colobus that is frequently hunted by chimpanzees, not my spotting, the eastern red. I just thought I would put that in because its an interesting fact.
Yes, chimpanzees do hunt and eat meat. It's usually small or young monkeys but they have also been to known to eat small duikers. I've seen them hunting and eating other monkeys on TV but never in the wild. It was actual a huge revelation when they observed this behaviour. It shattered many previous ideas about chimps.
I have spotted De Brazza's monkey but unfortunately I wasn't able to capture a photo. They were very high on my list when I went to East Africa. They are one of my favorite primates. I searched for them for 3 days in Semliki National Park in western Uganda on the border with DR Congo. During the 3 days I only saw them twice. I saw other monkeys but the De Brazza remained fairly elusive.
Dan, have you spotted a De Brazza's monkey?
Chimpanzees* sorry I got all excited.
Wow, the are listed as Endangered due primarily to predation by chimpanzees?? I thought chimapaznees diet was made up of seeds, leafs and fruits!
