Red Columbine

Aquilegia formosa

Habitat:

West coast of North America from Alaska to Oregon, most habitats including moutain meadows as seen here, beaches, roadsides, ditches, etc

Notes:

Very attractive to hummingbirds. The Haida called it the Red rain-flower and told their children not to pick it or it would rain!

Not a big fan of flower shots, but this one really captured my attention. Very unusual and the green\red contrast really worked. Thanks for sharing.
