Fire Salamander

Description:

Mutiple sightings on this rainy late afternoon today, Location is Gaisberg, which is a 1300 meter mountain in Salzburg, Austria. The sighting took place where the elevation is circa 1000 meters, 4 Fire salamanders in all were sighted, all heading down the mountain slopes to lower ground.

Habitat:

Deep and elevated woodland/forest, circa 100 meters, lots of dead leaf foilage and nurmerous naturally fallen trees, rocky terrain.

Notes:

Ah yeah, that's my Vizsla's nose. Don't worry he's just sniffing and we both realise that this beautiful anphibian is toxic.
