Great Horned Owl

Bubo virginianus

Description:

Large secondary owl feather.

Habitat:

Large desert ravine near small cave, arroyo dominated by creosote, sotol, mesquite and yuccas.

Notes:

I think this is a Great Horned Owl because of it's size and coloration and also because it was found where these owls reside.
