Crab

Description:

Small mud coloured crab.

Habitat:

In large numbers (along with babies) on the banks of the River Hooghly at Pujali ferry spot, Kolkata. They were busy scutting around, hiding under rocks and also, actively foraging. It was fun to see them move their "claws" to take food to their mouth. I was at a higher level than them and had a bird's eye view but of course could not see WHAT they were eating.

Notes:

Some locals said these crabs were not edible...maybe too small or merely said to reassure me?
