I have searched all over and can't find this plant. It looks like a succulent, but they are related to cactus which does NOT like wet feet. Yet this spotting is in the pond area.

It was stagnant water, I think, not salty

Was it salt water, freshwater, or a mixture of the two (brackish)?

Was this underwater? What type of environment did you find it? It's pretty. At first I thought it was a succulent of some sort. But it might be a coral of some kind?
