The species is the only one that is poisonous in Norway. The adder is protected in Norway. It is normally easily recognizable on the zigzag pattern it has on its back.
Spotted among the waste from the garden.

The adder exposed itself to sunshine trying to raise the body temperature. It was silent and slow in movement, Neil.
