Bibionid flies (♀♂)

Dilophus spp.

Description:

Two flies looking very different; the larger one (f?) is very similar, if not the same, as the previous spotting. The smaller one is probably about half the size and black all over.

Habitat:

These fell from a citrus leaf in a suburban back yard.

Notes:

Note head differences.. size, eyes, colour, separation.

Yours look like Bibionidae too. Different species don't mix if that's what you mean. They are just exhibiting sexual dimorphism.

not similar flies ,but a case of different type of flies mating. Flies were very slender and tiny almost the size of a grain of rice.
