Mycalesis mineus
Brown with a design of large and small eye spots like a border on the wings. A transverse wavy white line demarcates a brown area bereft of spots. The wing is trimmed by a double line of white.
This is the first time I have spotted this in my immediate neighbourhood. My new neighbour is an avid gardener who is planting flowering plants crotons and what have you on the neglected grassy verge alongside her boundary walls. I think we are seeing the results. This butterfly was spotted on her wall.
The wet season form has many eye spots (this one); the dry season form has only one eye spot.
