Tortoise

Description:

This little fellow was ambling along the road in front of our house the other day. Judging by the deposit on his shell, it looked as if a bird had been using him as target practice. He was only about the size of a cricket ball, but boy could he shift, once he got over the shock of having a camera pointed at him. So it was really hard to get a decent shot of him, once his head emerged from his shell. When we picked him up to carry him to the safety of the nearby park, away from the road, you could really feel the power in his legs as he was trying to get away.
