Recognised by the "hourglass" stripes on the back, which can range in colour from greyish black to red. Broad head with a mouth filled with sharp, conical teeth. Displaying how effective its camouflage is in this photo!

Habitat:

Indo-Pacific, usually bottom dwelling, up to depths of 90m

Haha! I don't know about the tongue, but if you see the head from the side, it really does look like a lizard! Yes, they have a gorgeous design on them :)

wow! a lizard-fish! I did not know it existed. How interesting discovery, I wonder if it comes out like a lizard tongue ?
It has beautiful design on its back :))
